Federal Tax Rebate for Efficient Windows Good Through 2010
You might have heard about the federal tax credit for getting your windows, doors, and/or roofing replaced with energy efficient products that meet certain standards. If not, here's a little bit of information: if your home improvements qualify, you can claim 30% of the cost, up to a total of $1,500, in tax rebates for that year's taxes.
Some remodeling companies tried to create a sense of urgency in customers by telling them that the rebate only applied to 2009. That is just plain false. The rebate applies to any purchase through December 31, 2010. For remodeling companies that can't boast the same quality and customer satisfaction as Elk Remodeling, it works in their favor if the customer is rushed. There's no time to consider other options when you have to buy the windows right away to save tons of money in taxes!
But Northern VA's own Elk Remodeling is here to reassure you that the tax rebate lasts through this year. There is no reason to rush into anything. Take your time and find the product and remodeling company that is right for you. If you've thought it through and chose Elk Remodeling, go ahead and schedule an appointment for a hassle-free, no-cost estimate!
Also, we've got new information about Virginia State Energy Plan rebate. The state has used up the allocated $15 million for energy efficient remodeling. The Virginia government is working on getting new funding to extend the rebate program, but that's all we know. We will keep you posted with any updates, but do not know anything more as of yet.
